A wide variety of seed starting products such as peat pots, peat pellets, plastic flats, packs and plugs are available. Most plastic seed-starting containers are reusable, but may harbor plant pathogens once used. Sterilize used containers by soaking them in a 10 percent bleach solution for 30 minutes. Rinse with water and air dry before using. This will help to protect seedlings from damping off, a fungus disease.
